Media and Technology Center Overview

A central part of our learning community is the Media and Technology Center. The curriculum is aligned and integrated with the classroom curriculum in general and Judaic studies. The Center's mission is to help students succeed as lifelong learners, information seekers and savvy users of technology in the 21st century. Part of that commitment is to instill in students a love for reading and learning and to give all students the opportunity to develop technology skills to support their learning, personal productivity, decision making and daily life.

In today's world, mastering information literacy skills is essential for success both in school and throughout life.  Information literacy is centered on problem solving and research through developing good questions, deciding what information is needed, locating the information, analyzing and sharing the information.  Resources used include print and electronic media.

Our technology program is designed to give students practical training in technology skills. Teaching is hands-on and is reinforced through projects that support and compliment each grade’s general studies and Judaic classroom curriculum. The program centers on a spiral curriculum with skills being built as students progress through each grade. The skills are introduced, reinforced, mastered and expanded at various grade levels.  The curriculum builds upon the national and state standards for technology and computer literacy.
